PRIVATE - A BIKE EXPERIENCE BETWEEN LAKE MAGGIORE AND LAKE MERGOZZO

Meeting with a private licensed cycling guide at Feriolo for an easy circular 15-km-long tour. After a briefing, you will cycle along the western shore of Lake Maggiore, on through the Toce River valley, along not very
busy roads and comfortable cycle paths. After a short visit to the ancient
Candoglia quarries, from which the precious white marble used for the
construction of the Milan Cathedral came, you will reach Lake Mergozzo, an enchanting sheet of water set among the first pre-Alps. You will have the chance to bathe in one of the 5 cleanest lakes in Italy before tackling the second part of your route which will lead you back to Feriolo through the Fondotoce Nature Reserve, where an aperitif of Italian products by the lake awaits for you.

PRIVATE - ARONA BETWEEN ART AND TASTE

Meeting with an English-speaking driver at Stresa and transfer to
Arona by private car/minivan. Meeting with a licensed tourist guide in order to enjoy a tour to the historical town center, situated on the southern shore of Lake Maggiore. Transfer by private car/minivan to the nearby hilly area dominated by 'San Carlone', a big bronze and copper statue portraying St. Charles Borromeo, archbishop of Milan (XVI century), who was born just at Arona. The sculpture was projected by Giovan Battista Crespi, nicknamed “Il Cerano”, and made during XVII century. Tourists are allowed to climb inside it, and to reach the saint’s eyes to enjoy an unusual panoramic view over the lake. Frédéric-Auguste
Bartholdi, who projected Miss Liberty in New York, spent some days at Arona in order to study its structure. Transfer to your last stop at a leader factory concern for the most important Italian cheese ageing and ripening, such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino and Bitto as well as Gorgonzola and Bettelmatt, some local kinds. Guided tour to the cellars. At the end wine and cheese tasting and possibility of buying some local products. Back to Stresa.
