Guided Walk Through the Salt Pans and salt tasting - Group tour
The majestic and unmistakable windmill with its six large blades - unique of its kind - and its pointed red dome dominates the scene. Today, thanks to a wise restoration, it is possible to visit the inside of the windmill, to observe its complicated working mechanism, and to enjoy panels illustrating the salt culture and a twelve minutes movie created ad hoc, which will help you better understand the complex functioning of the "sea salt production process".
An experience that is simple yet fascinating is the guided walk through the salt pans. This tour is made even more enchanting by the iridescent colours of our basins, the Stagnone Nature Reserve and the support of our guides, who will provide you with an insight into the striking life cycle and management of a salt pan, its productivity, and the time and pace of the salt collection.
After the visit of the mill, that is included, accompanied by our "Selmelier" (salt tasters), it will be possible to create combinations both with natural and with flavored fleur de sel with tastings of bread, olive oil, cherry tomato and seasonal fruit.
